Program Management

Program management means that mindAmp is responsible for managing the marketing, sales, development, and services associated with one or more solution programs. This management does not mean that mindAmp is responsible for actually performing the marketing, sales, development, or services; rather, it means that we are responsible for managing the planning, the linkage between planning and execution, and the execution associated with the program regardless of where the marketing, sales, development, or services is done.

Planning

mindAmp performs program management using rigorous and extensive planning. This planning is based on both publicly available planning standards and on proprietary methods and results in a signature-based planning flow in which the business goals, marketing/end-customer requirements, specifications, architecture, project plan, and quality plan are instrumental components. Rather than being simply static planning documents, however, these documents are evolutionary in nature and are constructed so as to adapt to the flux in business goals and marketing/end-customer requirements that are natural in almost all software development, but are particularly savage in a venture capital-based startup environment.

Conceptual Integrity

The hallmark of this planning is the concept of strong conceptual integrity throughout the planning process. Conceptual integrity refers to the unifying underlying theme of the definition of the program - from the way that the marketing plan is designed to the testable items associated with the development quality plan and from the way that the sales plan is designed to the service level agreement template used in the services plan.

Execution Integrity

However, we have seen brilliant planning be decimated by poor execution. For this reason, mindAmp program management also relies upon the concept of execution integrity. Execution integrity refers to the unifying underlying theme of the execution of the program. Our execution integrity works by linking together the planning with the periodic (e.g., daily, weekly) status reporting in a rigorous and well-defined manner - and then through the rigorous "scrubbing" of the periodic status reporting for predictive analysis of the overall program status.
